Mara wins three German Design Awards

Mara’s design and tendency to innovation have been officially recognised and celebrated by the prestigious and international German Design Award.

As many as three products from Mara collection are winners of the German Design Award 2023, the most important award conferred by the German Design Council: an annual competition established on the initiative of the German Bundestag in 1953. With its worldwide spectrum and international appeal, it is one of the most prestigious awards in the design scene in all sectors, identifying the most significant trends in design, communication and architecture.

The winners are two multifunctional tables and an upholstered armchair intended for both office and home environments, characterised by a clean and essential yet highly innovative design, conceived to meet the needs of the new living and working spaces.

The Icon seat, Mara’s first collection of upholstered seats designed with the creative contribution of Marcello Ziliani, immediately showed its design potential by winning in the Excellent Product Design – Furniture category for its bold and unmistakable aesthetics that reinterprets the classic cockpit armchair in a functional and innovative way.

Follow Me, Francesco Barbi’s design and Timmy Libro H1050 Mara R&D’s design, respectively the multitasking, space-saving, height-adjustable table (with a patented mechanical system that does not require electricity) and the innovative table with a Libro closure system equipped with the exclusive ‘Made in Mara’ anti-shock system, are both winners in the Excellent Product Design – Office furniture category.

Products that are recognised and appreciated for their ability to intercept and anticipate the emerging needs of constantly evolving environments where the traditional aesthetic values of the office and the home hybridise, generating new dynamic, welcoming and ergonomic spaces.
