Mara unveils the collaboration with Christophe Pillet

A spontaneous encounter that immediately revealed itself to be synergic and destined to grow stronger over time.

Mara is collaborating for the first time with the French designer Christophe Pillet, internationally renowned on the contemporary landscape for his extreme formal refinement and taste for simplicity. And these values represent the common inspiration for the company and the designer who then commenced a design journey meant to enlarge Mara’s collections for the office, the contract and residential.

“When I met the Mara team, I was struck by the family atmosphere and the human dimension of this reality,” says Christophe Pillet. “But I also grasped a common language in our design work, that has a devotion to simplicity, the latter understood as beauty, generosity, cognizance.

Mara’s sophisticated technology has therefore translated Christophe Pillet’s thought into a product with essential elegance and transversal use (therefore ideal for both office and domestic contexts), a furniture archetype revealing its innovative nature with an apparent absence of complexity.

“In Mara I found a very modern idea of how to use the technology. It is there, but it is carefully hidden,’ says the designer. ‘The mechanics disappear and the product is perfectly functional. This simplicity, this clarity and this ‘invisible mastery won me over right away’.

The result of this meeting of like-minded souls will be revealed as teaser at the Workspace Expo in Paris (26-28 March) and featured later at the Salone del Mobile.Milan (16-21 April).
